    introduced Boeing 707 jets on its flights to Rome on December 3, 1959.
    This cover was carried on the  inaugural Foreign Air Mail Route 27 Jet flight from the Idlewild Airport Mail Facility in New York to Rome, Italy
    (where it was backstamped)
    and is listed in the Jet Age Flights Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as J-343f.
